Anglophiles unite! Join YAAMNY for an exhilarating exhibition of more than one hundred outstanding posters, shedding light on the cultural richness of London during the early twentieth century, at the Yale Center for British Art. The tour will be led by head curator Scott Wilcox as well as collector Henry Hacker (Yale College, 1965), who donated the posters promoting the London underground, railways and foreign travel.
"Art for All' has gotten glowing reviews: "[T]he exhibition presents an intriguing case study in the convergence of art, design, commerce and the romance of travel," said to the New York Times.
Following the tour, we'll commence for a casual lunch with Henry and other Yalies at nearby Heirloom restaurant at the Study Hotel.
The guided tour will begin at 12:15 pm at the Yale Center for British Art. A YAAMNY group will meet at 9:50 a.m. SHARP at the information desk/ central clock at Grand Central Terminal to catch the 10:07 a.m. train to New Haven. The group will also return to Manhattan on the 3:52 p.m. train.
Train fare and lunch costs are not included.
